Deep sleep:

Today, I walked under the same cherry tree as I did a few weeks ago – August the 8th to be precise. It inspired then, the haiku I called ‘sharing’, when flies were buzzing around my feet to lap up the fresh, sweet cherry juices exposed by pedestrians treading on the fallen cherries. Today only dry cherry stones remain………..

Cherry stones remain,

Rolling around the pavement –

In undisturbed sleep.

About Basho Barr

Inspired by the great Japanese Haiku master, Matsuo Basho, I try to capture a daily moment in a small but perfectly formed Haiku.
