One Lovely Blog Award Nomination

The Mirror Man has nominated this blog for the ‘One Lovely Blog Award’. I am very grateful to him and would love to nominate his blog as well, if someone else had not already done so. The award has conditions attached, which are: I must thank the proposer of course; I must write seven random facts about myself; and I must nominate up to 15 other blogs for the award.

So here are some facts:

1. I am a composer, singer/songwriter, poet, writer (isn’t everybody?), and musician. I play many instruments, but mainly guitar and cello.

2. I practice mindfulness and meditation.

3. I am a pacifist.

4. I am a vegetarian.

5. I spent many years travelling around Europe living off street music.

6. I live in a tenant-run housing co-operative.

7. My drug of choice is tea. I love tea and of course the Japanese tea ceremony, which is a Haiku in itself. I have received a bowl of matcha in a ceremony in Japan, written several poems, quite a few Haiku and even a philosophical tale based around the subject of tea!

My nominations are:

I wrote a response to you through my blog, but haven’t found it here. So I write it now.

Thank you so much, Basho, for your nomination of my blog. I am very honored and moved that you would do so. I am

And, I am so excited to see your site and to be reminded of the Haiku, which I did a great deal in the past. Lost my focus on that spiritual/emotional practice and I am so happy to be re-minded and re-directed back to that very simple, rich art form.

I am inspired by your blog. In fact, I find myself just now searching for my pen to write my own Haikus, as I once did. And, you know, that is the very best of us – to inspire each other to ourselves through creative dialogue. Which is what I find in your blog. The best compliments I ever get in my own life are these: after a long conversation, my friend says, ‘you know, you make me want to just go and start painting, or get back to my writing or whatever (fill in the blank). That is our highest form of being with each other and, I hand the compliment to you. I am off to revive my personal Haiku.

And, again, thank you so much for your nomination of my blog (which is one of two I write)
    in light,

Dear Amelia, thank you so much for your lovely and deeply considered comment 🙂 I agree with you absolutely, and I am so glad you found my blog inspiring. Haiku writing is a part of my spiritual practice as you say, and your spirituality shines through bright and clear on your blog. Creativity is so important for all human beings. Thank you for your encouragement and inspiration,
